On the first day of each month, the biggest streaming services available—which includes Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max and Apple TV+—add dozens of new movies to their digital libraries.
But what many don’t realize is that several more titles are added throughout the month as well. Each and every week, we receive more movies and TV shows from these streaming providers.
And this week is no different. Here are 14 new movies you can expect to see this week from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max and Apple TV+.
Nightcrawler (Netflix)
Plot summary: Los Angeles denizen Louis Bloom survives by scavenging and petty theft. He stumbles into a new career as a cameraman and begins nocturnal forays across the city in search of shocking and grisly crimes. When he catches the eye of a shopworn news director who welcomes the chance to raise her station’s ratings, Louis goes to increasingly greater lengths to catch the “money shot.”
Nightcrawler stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Riz Ahmed, Bill Paxton, Kevin Rahm, Michael Hyatt and Ann Cusack. The movie was directed by Dan Gilroy.

The Lost Husband (Netflix)
Plot summary: Trying to put her life back together after the death of her husband, Libby and her children move to her estranged Aunt’s goat farm in central Texas.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman (Netflix)
Plot summary: Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished canine in the world, and his boy, Sherman, use a time machine called the Wabac to embark on outrageous adventures. However, when Sherman takes the Wabac without permission to impress his friend Penny (Ariel Winter), he accidentally rips a hole in the universe and causes havoc with world history. It’s up to Mr. Peabody to mount a rescue and prevent the past, present and future from being permanently altered.

Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn (HBO Max)
Plot summary: This documentary tells the story of Yusuf Hawkins, a black teenager who was murdered in 1989 by a group of young white men in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Yusuf Hawkins’ death and the official response to it sparked outrage in New York, unleashing a torrent of racial tension and spurring tireless civil rights activism that exposed deep racial prejudices and inequities which continue to plague the country today.
